Visit the Vilnius Cathedral which has been built on a historic and legendary site important to worshipping pagan gods. On this very same spot Vilnius was founded on the 13th century. You will also get to see the Gediminas Castle on a nearby hill, admire St. Anne&#8217;s Church which also said to be the gem of Lithuanian Gothic. Today you\u2019ll travel around 370 km between Vilnius and Riga and will stop at the Hill of Crosses near Siauliai in Lithuania. After the rebellions during the 1800s people from near and far began to put crosses on the hill and it become a site of piligrimage. The number of crosses is unknown, but estimates put it at about 55,000 in 1990 and 100,000 in 2006. In 1993, Pope John Paul II visited the site, declaring it a place for hope, peace, love and sacrifice.
